There are many different offices situated throughout London but which are the top locations to rent in the capital. This does obviously depend on an individual’s preference of course but here is a guide of some of the most sought after hotspots in London that businesses and companies generally tend to go for. Within London there are many different regions spread out over a vast area with two areas in particular that really stand out popularity wise. These areas are known as the City and the West End and when looking at a map of London, they can be found on the right and left hand side of Central London. However, one particular location in both areas really does generate much more interest compared to other places. Popular City Locations Within the City of London, the main sought after locations are within the EC2 and EC3 regions. This is due to a number of factors but one main reason is the iconic office buildings located there, which include The Gherkin, Tower 42, The Walkie Talkie, Heron Tower, Leadenhall Building, Lloyds Building, and the Stock Exchange Tower. All these fine pieces of architecture are situated in close proximity to each other and are spectacular to look at creating a stunning skyline for the City. However, one of the biggest attractions for organisations to these tall office buildings is the far-reaching views that are achieved from the office windows. Rent costs do reflect this special feature and the higher up the office suite is, the better the view is going to be. This in turn drives up the rent prices for the higher-level offices making the actual top floor suite very expensive indeed. The iconic buildings themselves do generate a lot of interest also from many businesses and companies, as they are fascinating to look at. Popular West End Locaations The West End on the other hand does not have these high-rise properties so what could possibly be the main attraction for this location? Well, within the West End there is the well-known region called Mayfair, which is probably one of the most prestigious and sought after locations in the country for both residential and commercial property. To have a business located in this exclusive area is something that attracts many organisations due to the reputation and grandeur of the place and its surroundings. Businesses that want to create a more refined image for their company do tend to choose this location simply because it makes them look more appealing and reputable to their clients or business associates. In addition, the rent prices for this particular location are probably the highest in the country making it an extremely wealthy area and therefore attracting many firms and companies. Price Comparisons Both of these areas are as appealing as one other but an interesting question that we are asked quite a lot is which area in London is the most expensive for renting an office. This is a very good question and most people would presume that the answer would be Mayfair due to its expensive property and historical background. However, you would be surprised to know that this actually is not quite accurate in today’s rental marketplace. It is probably fair to say that the Mayfair area as a whole is more expensive rent wise compared to the City but in reality, when it comes down to the most expensive individual rent price, the City can probably compete just as well. As mentioned previously, when you start getting higher up in these city skyscraper buildings that is when the office rent price shoots up dramatically and therefore the top offices of these buildings can probably do just as well as Mayfair, if not better. At the end of the day, it is a business’s own preference in which area they would go for and one crucial factor that determines this is what the business is. Both the City and the West End have many different sectors but there are specific sectors in each that will determine what area a company is most suited to for their individual line of business.
